Why take this trip with Flora Tours ?
Nestled in the northeast of the Dominican Republic, Los Haitises National Park is a true natural sanctuary. With its mangroves, caves decorated with Taíno paintings, and striking green islets, it offers a unique experience that blends nature, history, and adventure.
Visiting Los Haitises is the must-do excursion in the Samaná region, as it is truly one of the most beautiful national parks in the country.
At 8:00 in the morning, a bus will take you to Sánchez, where you will board our fast boat heading to Los Haitises. For three hours, you will sail through a breathtaking landscape reminiscent of Halong Bay in Vietnam: dozens of tiny islets covered in lush vegetation, generous mangroves inhabited by curious little crabs climbing up the giant roots of the mangroves, and Bird Island, home to pelicans, vultures, majestic frigatebirds, and several species of herons.
Rafael will share with you everything about the geology, the wildlife, the birds, and above all the life of the Taíno Indians, who lived in these sacred caves until the early 16th century — caves you will have the chance to visit.
After returning to the dock, our private restaurant will welcome you with a traditional Dominican buffet lunch.
